Steve Goodbar is an award winning guitarist, mandolinist, and singer/songwriter based in the Northwest. Introduced to folk music by a music teacher in Northern California Steve soon started listening to folk, country, blues, and jazz records. An equally adept finger picker and flat picker on acoustic guitar and mandolin Steve sports a wide baritone range honed by early years singing in choirs and bands of various kinds. "I'm very influenced by Country Blues and Old Time String Band music. Mississippi John Hurt, Rev Gary Davis, Doc Watson, to name three stylists I admire most. I venture into other genres as well such as a foot stomping Irish Jig or Reel performed on mandolin or guitar.”
Steve's debut release "A Track in Time" received significant airplay in the US and abroad and was featured on Southern California's Heartfelt Music Program on NPR. His original “Love Like a Truck” was included on a compilation “Country Songs about Pickup Trucks” issued on Hawthorn Records in 2004.
In 2019 Steve released "Spontaneous Collection" and an original guitar composition "La Cancion Del Rio" was selected for KRVM's Song Sampler Vol. II.
