TRIVIA MONDAYS AT PUBLICHOUSE featuring OK, Boomer Trivia with Ty Connor

OK, Boomer…(eye roll)… “Okay, Boomer” is typically used as a dismissive or sarcastic response to older people, particularly baby boomers, who are perceived as being out of touch with modern attitudes and culture.

Baby boomers, often shortened to boomers, are the demographic following the Silent Generation and preceding Generation X. This generation is often defined as people born from 1946 to 1964 during the mid-20th century baby boom.

Tonight’s your night, Boomers! This evening of trivia is brought to you by the creative and interesting mind of Mr. Ty Connor, our guest host for the evening.

All ages are welcome to participate, but the questions will be geared towards the years of the boomer.

MUSE, Volume 2: A Celebration of Women at PublicHouse and beergarden

What does it mean to be called a ‘Muse”?
As a noun, it means a person — especially a woman — who is a source of artistic inspiration. It seems like the perfect word to encompass our 2nd Annual Celebration of Women.

March 8 has been recognized as International Women’s Day since the early 1900’s. International Women's Day celebrates women's achievements in the workplace, and we’ve teamed up with beergarden to amplify and acknowledge the inspirational women in our lives, behind our pubs, creating our beer & spirits, feeding us and performing on our stage.

Live Musical Performances: Prior to 1900 and even after, it was expected that "women would perform music, not make music.” Singing was something of an acceptable pastime for a girl, but playing an instrument….?! Writing songs? Producing records? It wasn’t a thing and, for the most part, women didn’t think of themselves as creators of music. So much has changed. So much will continue to change. Both pubs will be showcasing women-led performances and events throughout the five days, including:

  • Wednesday, March 6

    • PublicHouse Live Music with Dianella, 5pm / Maya Vagner, 6:30pm / Rica Wright (backed by Joe Weber, Neriah Hart and Tim Donahue), 8pm

    • PublicHouse BeerHall: Sophia, Rep from Bend Cider, 6-8pm

  • Thursday, March 7

    • beergarden Live Music with Matti Joy, 5pm / Dianella, 6:30pm / Laura Ivancie, 8pm

    • PublicHouse BeerHall: 2 Towns, featuring their Baddie Cider, an all women-led initiative- brewed with Pink Lady Apples

  • Friday, March 8

    • PublicHouse Live Music with Matti Joy, 5pm / Joanne Broh Trio, 6:30pm / Elena Leona Project, 8pm

    • PublicHouse BeerHall: Bre, Head brewer of Planktown, will be on site from 6-8pm

    • PublicHouse WhiskeyLab will feature Hood River Distllers, a women-led company with women distillers

  • Saturday, March 9

    • beergarden Live Music with Maya Vagner, 5pm / Charming Tempest, 6pm / Complicated, 8pm

    • PublicHouse WhiskeyLab will feature Freeland Spirits in the Courtyard from 3-6pm. Freeland Spirits is a Portland All Women-Led & Run Distillery

  • Sunday, March 10

    • PublicHouse Live Music with McKayla Marie, 3pm / Pants with Pockets (the Eugene String Queens), 4:15pm

    • beergarden: Paint N Sip with Sierra, 3-5pm

On our Drafts and In Our Whiskey Lab at PublicHouse: Both of the teams over at PublicHouse and beergarden are led by women managers, along-side a number of talented women behind the bars. We’re stoked to be featuring some woman-brewed & woman-inspired beers on our draft list over the weekend as well as cocktails featuring spirits from woman distillers.

  • From the BeerHall at PublicHouse:
